Leadership & Staff
David Segraves is a Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Marine Corps Military Judge, brown belt, and the hard-charging “Egghead Warrior” behind the Colorado Wolverines. He built this team the same way he built his career: no shortcuts, no excuses, and a “willing to do anything” ethos forged in the Corps. Named after the guerrilla fighters of Red Dawn, the Wolverines run on grit, intellect, and a flat-out refusal to bow to the status quo. On the mats, he’s a wristlock-hunting, “wheeeeee”-yelling wrecking ball, dropping lateral drops into suffocating kesa gatames and throwing heavyweight cartwheel passes that have no business working. As the voice behind Egghead’s Scramble, he’s made jiu-jitsu a vehicle for mental toughness, identity, and something worth fighting for. David doesn’t coach from the sidelines. He leads from the front, building a pack that hits harder, thinks sharper, and refuses to quit.
Kenny Johnson doesn’t need an introduction, but he’s getting one anyway. Forged in Racine, Wisconsin, he wrestled at the University of Iowa under Dan Gable, trained for seven Olympic Games, and racked up a career wrestling record of 1,268-89. He built BOLT Wrestling from the ground up, ran Black House MMA as head coach, and put 20 UFC champions through the fire, including BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, Tony Ferguson, and Lyoto Machida. A BJJ black belt under Cobrinha, a multi-time World, Pan Am, and National champion in Gi and No-Gi, and one of only 40 coaches on the planet with USA Wrestling NECP Gold Level certification, Kenny has done it all and then some. He’s coached Roger Gracie, Andre Galvao, Gabi Garcia, and cornered four seasons of The Ultimate Fighter. Now he’s bringing all of that to the Colorado Wolverines, and if you’re on the other side of the mat, that should make you uncomfortable.
CJ Segraves serves as General Manager of the Colorado Wolverines, overseeing operations, partnerships, media, and brand strategy. A former college football player, he brings a competitive mindset and hands-on experience in event production, content systems, and business operations. His leadership is detail-oriented, relationship-driven, and rooted in combat sports culture. He’s focused on building the Wolverines into a competitive, authentic force in the PGF and beyond.
When he’s not procuring partnerships for the Colorado Wolverines, Donald owns Integrity Moving, coaches, competes in, and referees Jiu-Jitsu — and finds time every Sunday morning to volunteer with therapy animals.
TJ Steinebach was forged in the gym: boxing, kickboxing, and wrestling since middle school, over 25 years of getting after it. He parlayed that grind into three MMA titles with a 6-1 record before injury forced him to pivot, and he came back swinging on the mats. A high school state finalist wrestler and Arizona Daily Star First Team selection, TJ carried that blue-collar wrestling pedigree straight into the grappling world, making the USA Grappling Team four times and competing across the globe. He was part of the first and second USA Grappling Teams to win the UWW World Title, and in 2023 he brought home two individual World Championships, Gi and No-Gi, out of Astana, Kazakhstan. TJ dominated on the PGF’s Pro Grappling League TV show as part of the first-place squad, going unsubmitted the entire season. A multiple-time state and national BJJ champion and 2023 U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame BJJ Athlete of the Year, TJ doesn’t just compete. He collects hardware. Off the mats, he ran UFC Gym Denver and founded Gemini BJJ, building a deep understanding of what makes combat sports businesses thrive. He brings that operational mind and championship experience to the Wolverines as Business Strategist.
Peter is a half-Brazilian, half-American strength and conditioning coach who doubles as an analyst and scout for Pirâmide Grappling Association in Rio de Janeiro. Over the past three years, he’s made it a mission to visit as many open mats as possible across Colorado, building deep connections with the state’s top competitors and coaches. His analytical edge comes from hundreds of hours of film study and hands-on work with elite black belt athletes in Brazil. He joins the Wolverines as Technical Analyst, bringing a data-driven approach to match preparation and scouting.
